Sleep More, Stress Less

We bid summer a final adieu and resume back to our studies and routines. With school settling in we can no longer sleep in until noon or go to bed whenever we please. Sleep is slowly becoming something we regularly lack and value more when it comes to school. Loss of sleep often leads to the depletion of grades and makes it more difficult for one to learn efficiently.

Although it seems impossible to gain eight hours of sleep, like doctors recommend, there are ways to ensure that you can make the most of the sleep that you are able to gain. When it comes to your diet, always make sure to eat at least three hours before you go to sleep, but try not to go to bed on an empty stomach in order to avoid getting any stomach aches or cramps. Scents can also stimulate and help you sleep better. For instance, burning lavender scented candles or incense before bed can put you in a relaxed state and help you gain sufficient sleep. Also, a warm bath, and exercise, can be soothing if you are stressed out from homework or just preparing for bed.

Many tactics can benefit your well being and emotional state because sleep improves learning, memory, and insight. Getting only six hours of sleep a day for an entire week can impair your thought process and memory. It is crucial to get as many hours of sleep over the weekend as you can since during the week it is a lot more difficult to do so. In addition to impaired learning, insight, and loss of memory, one’s mood can be altered significantly when sleep deprived.

Fortunately enough, there are many products sold to help the sleep deprived. Bath and Body works has a line of products called Sleep that consists of lotion, body wash, scrub, and more that contains Lavender Chamomile. Sleeping masks are sold at various stores to help keep unnecessary light from hurting your eyes in the morning, as well as memory foam pillows which support the back and neck. The result of trying these products could be surprising and very profitable. Sleeping is vital and should be handled with a lot more responsibility to benefit you.

– Daytime naps improve memory and cut the risk of heart disease
– The most common emotions experienced in dreams are anxiety and fear.
– The average human will spend 1/3 or their life sleeping, which equates to about 20 – 25 years over 75 Year lifespan
