Boys Outdoor Track: Game Recap vs Beverly

Josandy Jeune May 22, 2017

On Wednesday May 17th the boys outdoor track team went up against Beverly High and dominated their way to a 93-42 win. After this strong effort, the boys improved their record to 6-1 in the league this year.

Head Coach David Londino was really pleased with the effort the team brought as a whole with being in a new league. He was proud on how the boys were able to dominate the meet. Londino hopes that even with this win the team will still continue to perform when called upon or needed. All in all he was really pleased with the effort.

Athletes who ran in the meet include junior Eric Toh and senior Brian Tran who like Londino were really happy with the effort. Toh states that “[they] dominated the meet and everyone on team did their part and put a good effort.” Individually Toh believe he did really good and was able to beat his personal record by “shaving off” a few seconds. Tran thought he did alright but as a whole thought the team did really good considering the humid weather. He stated that “[they] were able to pull it together, pulling out a win and keeping their winning streak alive.” All in all, he was really happy with how the team came together.

Toh thought the experience was great despite the fact that “everyone was melting on the bus, because of the heat and pressure from the sun”. Some advantages that Tran thought the team had was that their opponents “seemed to suffer more so from the heat” than them. However, it was an away meet so that was deemed as a disadvantage, it wasn’t a huge deal because all of the track meets were away.

In conclusion, the boys cruised in their meet against Beverley continuing to build their reputation in the Northeastern Conference.
