In a world of sexism, Asian hate, and discrimination, local communities have stood their ground. Many individuals have sprung into action, creating organizations to campaign against prejudice. One of these many organizations is BlossomHer.

What is BlossomHer?

BlossomHer is a youth-powered, non-profit organization founded in April 2024 by 15-year-old sophomore Tiffany Nguyen of Fontbonne Academy, an all-girls private school in Boston. Nguyen focuses on the struggles of the less fortunate women in Vietnam’s countryside.

To start such a huge project at such a young age is no easy feat. So, how did Nguyen do it and why?

Nguyen answered, “I have personal connections to women and have witnessed firsthand the struggles and triumphs of women in their communities.” Acknowledging the struggles of the less fortunate and women who are not looked up to, Nguyen both combined and combatted these issues. Her primary goal is to provide financial and working opportunities for women in Vietnam.

Nguyen ensures that the organization’s goal will be achieved by helping struggling women in Vietnam “sell handcrafted textiles, pottery, etc in America” and “networking with local communities to provide opportunities for fundraising and donations.”
