On May 19th, the Boys’ Tennis team hosted an emotional night to honor the hard work the senior boys have contributed over the years. The night went on to be filled with laughter from family and friends, as well as thoughtful memories to last a lifetime.
To start the night, the seniors played a home game against Lynn Classical, ending the season well, winning the match 4-1. The team played their best and showed their best efforts to finish off the season strong.
Coach Brian Sou explained that “One of the biggest challenges we faced this season was the weather, especially rainouts. It felt like we were constantly checking the forecast, adjusting our plans, and scrambling to find new dates for matches. That kind of disruption can throw off momentum and make it tough to keep the rhythm of the season.”

Sou reflected on the growth he saw within the team and its seniors, as he watched them grow not only as players but as people. “Knowing this group since they were freshmen gives me a unique perspective on their growth. I’ve seen them grow not just as players, but as young men. This year, they stepped into leadership roles naturally – helping younger players, setting the tone at practice, and leading by example”, Sou explained.
As the night continued, the underclassmen showed their appreciation for the upperclassmen who guided them through the season by setting up all types of gifts to give the seniors a final goodbye. Friends and family were then invited to pictures with the seniors and their signs. Laughter and joy were spread throughout the air as the seniors shared their final moments as a part of the team. Senior Stanley Jiang showed his gratitude for the gifts and signs, explaining how it will be a fond memory to remember. “The underclassmen had set up all our posters and brought food for everyone, which was pretty nice. It will still be a core memory for everyone on the team this year.”
As the team sat to enjoy their gifts and food, the group reflected on fond memories from the past. Jiang added that his advice: “I definitely would have told myself to play more tennis and stay consistent with it year-round. If I had put more time in, I definitely would have been a much better player and not felt like there was lots of untapped potential.”
As the team continued to reflect, Sou shared the positives that resolved with the seniors’ final season. One of the most rewarding parts of the season for Sou was not only their outstanding record but the strong bond of the team. “As the season wraps up, I’m feeling incredibly proud, not just because of the 12-3 record, but because of the way this team showed up every day. These boys gave their all—in practice, in matches, and in how they supported each other. That kind of consistency and commitment is what really defines a successful season,” Sou recalled.
Jiang recalled one final fond memory from his three-year contribution to the team. “My favorite memory from tennis was honestly my entire first season on the team. I really enjoyed the environment that was on the team that year, and I also met many great players and people on that team,” Jiang recalled.
After a long, but strong season, seniors Ilyes Ouldsaada, Stanley Jiang, Kyle Huang, Henry Dzuong, Shawn Chen, and Satvir Singh take their final sign off from a team that brought them growth and love.
