As the school year comes closer to an end, seniors are preparing for one of the most memorable events of high school. For many students, prom is more than just a formal dance. It is a chance to celebrate their hard work, enjoy time with classmates, and make lasting memories before graduation.

For some students, prom feels like a major milestone. “This is an accomplishment in our life,” senior Jaell Dumas said. “We are one step closer to our diploma, and we have to all do it together.”

To senior Christina Robinson, the excitement comes from experiencing the venue and spending time on the dance floor, mentioning that, “Prom feels especially meaningful because it represents how far the class has come. This is kind of a celebration of how far we’ve come, and it’s really nice to see everybody looking their best.”

Similarly, senior Sorin Mamouzette highlighted dancing as the main event. “I’m so excited to dance,” Mamouzette said. “I am the biggest dancer. There should be a circle around me when I start dancing.”

On the other hand, other students are looking forward to the social side of the night, like senior Avani Chhetri, who mentioned her excitement to see “everybody dressed up, take pictures, and dance with friends.”

Prom also gives students a chance to dress up and feel confident. “For me, looking good, looking my best, and just enjoying [prom] because it’s like once in a lifetime,” exclaimed senior Alecia Louigene. Dumas agreed, expressing her excitement to see classmates step out of their comfort zones and enjoy the night together.

Louigene hoped that the night would be a fun, meaningful moment for the senior class. “I’m expecting it to be a wholesome moment and very fun,” she shared. “Just enjoy the moment, enjoying our last time together.”

Additionally, Dumas mentioned how prom feels like a major milestone, seeing how prom is a “surreal” accomplishment and a sign that seniors are getting closer to graduation.

“This is an accomplishment in our life,” Dumas added. “We are getting one step closer to our diplomas, and we have to do it all together.”

As seniors prepare for prom, the night is expected to be filled with pictures, dancing, laughter, and reflection. For the class of 2026, prom is not just about dressing up; it is about celebrating one of their final moments together before graduation.
