Junior Leah Tramondozzi is a varsity coxswain on the crew team who joined during her freshman year. This is Tramondozzi’s first year on varsity and she expressed that “it feels really gratifying” to have made the varsity team.

The team this year is different from past years with many new underclassmen. With the new additions to the varsity team, Tramondozzi mentioned that there is a different dynamic to practice and events. Tramondozzi added that she’s always laughing and having fun when she’s with the team.

This season, Tramondozzi looks to improve her steering and reflexes since they are important parts of being a coxswain. She feels that coaches Sarah Jones and Shauna Campbell have helped her to grow as a coxswain because they “test your limits…[which] is exactly what makes them great coaches because they only want the best for the team.”

Tramondozzi hopes to receive a gold medal at the Moose on the Malden Regatta, the biggest regatta of the season for the team, this year. Last year, Tramondozzi was named “novice of the year” for the team and received several medals in the last two years, both as a rower and as a coxswain. She loves the sport as well as the people on the team, and she plans to also be a coxswain for the team next year.
