Senior captain Samantha Forestier has been rowing since her freshman year at Malden High School. As a captain she enjoys leading the team and helping new members learn the ropes. She looks to ensure that everyone on the team is trying their hardest and working together.

Forestier is excited for this season because there are many new people. She accredits coaches Sarah Jones and Shauna Campbell for the teams success since they push the team to reach its full potential. As a team, Forestier believes they must work together in the races because it is important is to improve one’s own abilities along with each other’s.

Each year Forestier has competed at states and has helped to organize The Moose on the Malden Regatta, showcasing her dedication and great leadership on the team. She advises underclassmen on the team to “take the sport seriously but remember to have fun.” Forestier mentioned that this season is bittersweet for her as it is her final high school crew season and hopes to reach her goals while having fun along the way.
