Boys Tennis Profile: Sophomore Vitya Teauge

Ailin Toro May 10, 2016 1 minute read

Sophomore Vitya Teague has taken private tennis lessons for five years. It is no wonder that he has been on the varsity boys tennis team for two years now. Teague was the only freshman on the varsity team last year and is the only underclassman on the varsity team this year.

Teague decided to play tennis at Malden High School over other sports because he thought he could offer his experience to the team. He has proven to be a vital asset to the team, helping to ring in the wins. Teague mentioned that being on the team has helped him to learn from others.

When asked about his favorite classes, Teague mentioned that he has “an equal love for chemistry and history” taught by chemistry teacher Amelia Collison and history teacher Patrick Finnegan. Outside of school Teague’s enjoys reading and considers being a writer as his profession.

After high school Teauge looks to continue playing tennis in college. Best of luck to Teauge and the rest of the team for the remainder of their season.
