As viewers entered the Finn Gymnasium, their ears were immediately filled with the sound of sneakers squeaking on the floor. As the Malden Golden Tornados Girls’ Basketball team warmed up for their opponents, the Revere Patriots, the determination to win was evident on their faces. As the game started, spectators noticed something different. The Malden High School Cheerleading Team was on the court cheering for the girls’ team, boosting its morale and motivation throughout the game.

The game started on the wrong foot with Malden fouling Revere, resulting in a free throw. However, Malden quickly caught up,  yet Revere scored back to back, running up and down the court with each attempted shot and layup.

As points continued to be scored between both teams, you could see the sweat and fatigue on the players’ faces, but the girls pushed through their exhaustion and continued to fight. Though they put up a fight, with the score being 22-27, Revere managed to steal the ball from Malden, racing down the court to score a final point. This led to a disappointing loss against Revere, leaving the final score at 22-29.
