Out of the many world language teachers hired this year, Spanish teacher Jessica Strzepek brings extraordinary talent to Malden High School. Strzepek grew up in the city of Georgetown, Massachusetts, where she taught English before moving to Malden, where she now teaches Spanish.
She is no stranger to the field of education. Junior Lauryne Jean Joseph explained, “she tries her best to add different activities,” keeping students engaged and “not making it boring for anyone.”
After school, she prepares her lessons for her next class, runs errands, or goes home, where she then exercises and cooks dinner for her family.

Before her teaching career, Strzepek majored in an array of languages, specifically Latin, Portuguese, and Spanish.
“She is often in the office every morning because I come in early and she’ll be making copies,” Jayson Payeur, Jenkins House Principal, noted, and elaborated that, “she’s very pleasant and nice.”
“Everybody has a different personality. Some students are shyer than others. Some students are more daring to answer questions and participate,” Strzepek explained. She often tries to help her students who are too shy to answer feel comfortable speaking out.
“You can tell that she cares about kids; she’s involved. She’s reached out with emails, asking about policies, protocols for the building. I can tell that she cares about the kids,” Payeur expressed, showing Strzepek’s desire to make a difference within the school’s environment. She has quickly adjusted to the brand-new environment, making an impact on those around her.
