Girls Soccer Senior Profile: Sara Mini

This year marks senior Sara Mini’s final year as a Malden High School girls soccer player. Mini, a starting middle for the girls soccer team, has been playing soccer since she was about seven years old, but started playing for MHS as a sophomore. Nothing specifically got her interested in the sport, just more of an urge to play. “Even though [she is] homeschooled,” Mini expresses that she feels blessed “with this amazing opportunity to play soccer in high school.”

When she finally started playing for the high school, playing on the team became a huge part of her life. Having the chance to practice and socialize with people outside of her usual surroundings in school was a great experience.

Outside of soccer, however, Mini finds herself interested in studying media communications, which encompasses marketing and business. She hopes to attend the University of Valley Forge in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, a private college for business. While Mini holds on to this hope, she is open to other options as she goes further into her college research. After school altogether, Mini is the most interested in some kind of career specializing in graphics and media, particularly graphic design, a job that has many opportunities in a world of rising technologies.

Even though the soccer season has ended, Mini wants to focus on getting the schooling in order to achieve the goals she has set for herself in order to attend Valley Forge. While being apart of the MHS girls soccer team has been a great experience for her, it saddens her to leave. Mini’s aspirations for what life after high school has to offer her will surely keep her busy now that soccer season has ended.
