  • An Oklahoma City bomb scare turns out to be nothing more than a burrito

 

INTERNATIONAL:

  • Chinese People’s Supreme Court rules against torture as a method of obtaining confessions, as well as calling for watertight regulations regarding the death penalty

  • The future of U.S. troops in Afghanistan remains in limbo following President Hamid Karzai’s refusal to grant the U.S.’s requested extension past the 2014 withdrawal deadline

  • A Latvian supermarket collapse on Thursday leads to the death of at least 50 people

  • Oil product purchases have been suspended due to the explosion of an oil pipeline which connects Huangdao to the city of Weifang; the blast kiilled 35 people and has polluted 3,000 square meters of sea water as of this publication
