Along with the month of February comes delicious treats to satisfy the sweet tooth of many lovers. A fun way to bring in the loving spirit is to test out some Valentine’s Day recipes with a lover or even a friend.

For this cheap, yet mouth watering recipe you will need:

1/3 cup Dutch-processed cocoa

½ cup plus 2 Tablespoons boiling water

2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, finely chopped

4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, melted

½ cup plus 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2½ cups sugar

1¾ cups all-purpose flour

6 ounces bittersweet chocolate, cut into ½-inch pieces

M&M chocolate candies (red colored)

Heart-shaped cookie cutter

Before beginning any baking, the oven needs to be preheated to 350 degrees F. After preheating the oven, spread the 8×11 pan with butter. Once the preparations have been done, pour in the cocoa, water, and oil into a large bowl and begin mixing. Next, add in the oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Then, add in the flour, unsweetened chocolate, and bittersweet chocolate. Continue mixing until all ingredients are completely dissolved in the mixture.

Once all of the mixing has been done, spread the batter onto the pan and place the pan into the oven, and leave it to bake for 30-35 minutes. After the baking time is up, let the brownies cool for about 15 minutes. The brownies are ready to be cut once the cooling is done. Use the heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out individual Valentine’s Day brownies. Now the brownies are ready for the final touch: the M&M’s. Place the red M&M’s into the surface of the brownies.
