Valentine’s Day Carnation Fundraiser

Kristy Yang February 10, 2016 2 minutes read

With Valentine’s Day fast approaching some are left scrambling to find gifts for that special someone. But fear not as Malden High School has fundraisers in place to help you out on Feb. 14, 2016.  What better way is there to show your care than through flowers?

One of the fundraisers, held by MHS Key Club every year, sells carnations.Students and teachers can buy pink, white, or red carnations that they can give on Friday. This year, over 200 carnations were snowed, even though we didn’t go to school because of snow days. Carnations will be passed out on February 12, Friday. It will be during homeroom and it will be passed out by Key Club members. The money made from the fundraiser will be for purchasing supplies for the club’s events and service projects they contribute to, like socks for the homeless, toys for children’s hospitals, and money for project that will happen in other countries.

Another fundraiser includes chocolate roses which is hosted by the Relay for Life club and the Class of 2018. This fundraiser always has great success and was no different this year as many were sold to students.

The carnations and chocolates will be distributed during homeroom on Friday, Feb. 12.
