Chouaib (Show-I-b) Saidi is a freshman at Malden High School. Saidi was born in Morocco and then moved to Malden when he was one year old. He lives with his mom, dad, older and younger brother and the whole family practices the Islamic religion. Saidi’s hobbies are reading, playing soccer, and going to the gym. His love for soccer grew ever since he saw it on television. Soccer is a huge part of Arab culture and after seeing his cousins play when he was eight he became hooked and looked up every detail. He now plays midfield and winger for the Malden High School team and looks up to Cristiano Ronaldo. Saidi’s favorite subjects in school are history and science and he even said in the future he wants to be a biologist or a soccer player. Saidi’s main reason for joining journalism is because he likes writing and wants to learn how to use a camera so he can get more into photography and video work.
